Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Subsea Survey Engineer located in Aberdeen or Perth, Australia.

Overview:
The incumbent will be a member of the Subsea Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE), which provides technical expertise to the Upstream Major Capital Projects and Base Business organizations. CoE employees fill various positions, including research and development, short term consulting/problem solving, with potential for long term secondment to Major Capital Projects or Strategic Business Units. Typical roles may include project scoping, concept selection, FEED and detailed design, fabrication, installation and/or operation of subsea facilities.

This position will be part of the subsea survey and positioning team and will report to the Subsea Survey & Positioning Team Lead.

Position Details: Key Job Responsibilities for this position:
• Provide technical input, developing specifications and overseeing site activity associated with the obtaining of site survey data, the positioning of permanent subsea equipment & temporary subsea vessels and the obtaining and maintenance of geospatial information
• It is anticipated that both international and domestic business travel to locales with subsea operations will be required. Such locations could include West Africa, Indonesia, North & South America, Australia & Europe
Offshore medical clearance and offshore survival certification will also be required

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Degree (or equivalent) in Geomatics, Geodetic Science or associated discipline
• Likely 10 years experience in Offshore and Subsea Survey and Positioning
• Likely 5 years experience in GIS Use and Analysis
• Ability to provide technical support for global subsea survey and seabed positioning projects including:
• Understand requirements, develop specifications, identify and obtain appropriate technology and engage suppliers
• Manage vendor contracts, work scopes, and personnel
• Oversee offshore and site activities
• Understanding of subsea systems and subsea projects and operations including application of ROV and AUV technology
• Familiarity with relevant industry and regulatory codes, standards and recommended practices.
• Capability to manage and implement GIS for subsea major capital and BU projects
• Capability of supporting GIS integration with other Chevron subsea data management systems including reliability, integrity, CMMS databases
• Experienced in project controls, including effective work planning, risk assessment, contingency plans, contract management, and demonstrated business acumen.
